Ibuprofen Uses
Ibuprofen is used to relieve pain from various conditions such as headache, dental pain, menstrual cramps, muscle aches, or arthritis. It is also used to reduce fever and to relieve minor aches and pain due to the common cold or flu. Ibuprofen is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking body's production of certain natural substances that cause inflammation. This effect helps to decrease swelling, pain, or fever.
Ibuprofen Oral Suspension
This form of ibuprofen is intended for use in children. Do not give this medication to a child younger than 2 years unless directed by the doctor.

How to use ibuprofen
Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor. Shake the bottle well before each dose. Take this medication at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time. Do not increase your dose or take this drug more often than directed by your doctor or the package label. When ibuprofen is used by children, the dose is based on the child's weight. 

For children, the daily dosage of  Ibuprofen Oral Suspension is 20 mg/kg of body weight in divided doses. This can be achieved as follows

1-2 years: One 2.5 ml spoonful (50 mg) three to four times a day.
3-7 years: One 5 ml spoonful (100 mg) three to four times a day.
8-12 years: Two 5 ml spoonfuls (200 mg) three to four times a day.

Not recommended for children weighing less than 7 kg.

Drug Interaction of Ibuprofen
Ibuprofen Should Be Used With Caution In Combination With Drugs Such As Corticosteroids, Aspirin, Lithium Drugs, Methotrexate, Cyclosporine, Drugs Used To Treat High Blood Pressure (anti-hypertensive) Or Heart Related Problems (cardiac Glycosides), Blood Thinning Drugs (warfarin), Selective Serotonin-reuptake Inhibitors, Mifepristone, Tacrolimus, Zidovudine, And Quinolone Antibiotics. Always Consult Your Physician For The Change Of Dose Regimen Or An Alternative Drug Of Choice That May Strictly Be Required.

Side effects of Ibuprofen
Indigestion, Vomiting, Abdominal Pain, Heart Burn, Diarrhea, Dizziness, Skin Rashes, Sever Allergic Reactions. Heart Patients May Experience Swelling Of Body And Fluid Retention. Overdose May Cause Stomach Or Abdominal Pain And Ringing In The Ears.
