The Ministry of Health has officially announced the Efficiency Bar Examination for Grade III Nursing Officers in the Nursing Service, scheduled to be held on August 17, 2025. This examination, conducted in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, is a mandatory qualification for nurses before reaching the fourth salary step in their grade.
Eligible applicants are those listed under Grade III in the amended Nursing Service Minute (Gazette No. 1837/8 dated 19.11.2013) who have yet to pass the first Efficiency Bar Exam. Applications must be submitted through institutional heads to the Director (Examinations), Ministry of Health, on or before July 2, 2025.
The exam will consist of two written papers: Establishments Code and Financial Regulations. A minimum of 40 marks per paper is required to pass. First-time applicants are exempt from the exam fee, while repeat candidates must affix stamps worth Rs. 25 per subject.
