Using Syringe as a NG Feeder, New Thinking of Nasal Feeding

In our previous post "New Thinking of Nasal Feeding" we show you how to use a bladder syringes as a NG feeder.

In this article, we are going to show you how to use "Luer Lock Syringe" as a NG Feeder.

The nurses of ward 62/63-NSU Teaching Hospital Kurunegala are successfully using "luer lock syringe method". As they say, there are no undernourished NG fed patients in their ward. As well as this feeder is pretty economical.

So try this method for a better patient care.

1. Take a luer lock syringe



































2. Take a sharp scissor an insert it in to cylinder like this.



































3. Rotate the blade of the scissor clock wise while making some force.





































4. End result will be like this.




































5. Now connect it in to the NG tube like this.
